Welcome to the KHSAA - Open Letter to all Alumni

As the new incoming KHSAA President I started to think about what would be a good platform of the new Administration of KHSAA.  Up until now KHSAA and other Kubasaki websites have focused on connecting all the various past classes and students together, and it seems to have been very successful, and as such we will continue to help to the best of our abilities to facilitate any groups that would request our help in the future.

In the next few years the U.S. military will move off of Okinawa (to Guam) and thus Kubasaki High School in Okinawa could cease to exist.  If that is to happen it will be very sad for the over 50 years of graduating classes.  However, the legacy and what it has brought to all of us would not have to stop, even if the physical entity were to no longer be around.

What I have thought about and am proposing is a program I call, “Kubasaki High School-50 Years into the Future”. The idea is to take KHSAA and convert it into a 501c3 Not for Profit Corporation.  Once that is done then we would create “The KHSAA Scholarship and Outreach Fund” for Students of KHS, the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of Kubasaki High School Alumni.  By creating the 501c3, we will in addition, be able to pull in donations from people and companies, as it is a tax deduction for all of those contributing. With this program in place the legacy of Kubasaki High School and all it has meant to each one of us can be passed on to those future generations.

As the President, once the 501c3 is in place, I will be the first to donate $1000 into the “KHSAA Scholarship and Outreach Fund”. So please join me in the next step for all of the KHSAA and lets set a goal(once the fund is established)in the next major reunion (whoever is sponsoring it), to offer up the first KHSAA Scholarships.  I you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me directly a

president@kubasakihighschool.com.

We have over 5300 names in the database so there is a good chance you are already in the directory, especially if you graduated before 1980. If you'd like to become a member but aren't sure whether or not you're listed in the directory, you can do one of two things to avoid a duplicate entry:

  1. Send an email with your full name and class year to locator@kubasakihighschool.com. We will search the directory and send you instructions for how to proceed.

  2. Sign up, but check to see if you have more than one listing in the directory. If you do find a duplication, email membership@kubasakihighschool.com and let us know which listing to delete.
Remember that, in order to ensure the privacy of our alumni, you must be a member of the KHSAA to access the database. if you want your information included in the directory but do not want to become a member at this time, send an email to locator@kubasakihighschool.com and we will add your listing to the database for you.
